Sometimes we move forward expecting something to go a certain way without really noticing that we’re expecting it.
There’s no clear moment where we decide it. We don’t stop to think it through or consider other possibilities. It just feels understood, like things will follow a certain path because they usually do.
So we go into it with that in mind, even if we’re not fully aware of it.
And while we’re in it, nothing feels off. Everything seems normal, because it’s lining up with what we had already assumed.
It’s only when something turns out differently that we notice it.
Not just the outcome, but how certain it felt beforehand—like it had already been decided.
And for a moment, it’s a bit strange to realize that we were moving through it that way,
without ever really choosing to.
